Methods of Art – Archive of Artists Interviews

Artie Vierkant, born 1986, is an American artist based in New York. He holds an MFA from University of California, San Diego and a BA degree from University of Pennsylvania, and is represented by New Galerie, Paris. Vierkant is best known for his „Image Objects“ series, an ongoing series that is based on his 2010 essay „The Image Object Post-Internet“. Each work in the series is first created by Vierkant as a digital file on a computer, which he then UV prints out and fits onto a three-dimensional sculpture. Among others, Vierkant had exhibitions at Perrotin, New York, New Galerie, Paris, Westfalischer Kunstverein, Münster/Germany, Untitled, New York, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, and Kunsthalle Wien. In 2022 he published the book Health Communism (together with Beatrice Adler-Bolton, Verso Books).
